Start lining up those shots of cough syrup, it's time to celebrate...if you're Lil Wayne that is. Weezy's new album Tha Carter IV has beat out Jay Z and Kanye West's first week of iTunes sales after just four days.

Kanye and Jay-Z's Watch The Throne album went on sale in August exclusively to iTunes and sold 290,000 units in its first week. While this was enough downloads to beat the record previously held in 2008 by Coldplay for their album Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends it wasn't enough to top the reigning King of hip-hop, Lil Wayne.

Weezy has racked up 300,000 downloads after being available on iTunes and at other physical retailers in just four days. This is impressive because Wayne's album was available to buy everywhere and still beat Watch The Throne, which was only available on iTunes during the first four days of it's release.

Official first-week sales figures for the album will be released on Wednesday but early projections were that he would move 1 million albums in his first week, potentially beating out Lady Gaga's record setting sales for her Born This Way Album.

However, those numbers might have been a little premature because now the Hollywood Reporter is saying that Wayne will probably move 850,000 copies in it's first week. While those aren't Gaga numbers, it's still really impressive. If Tha Carter IV moves 850,000 copies it will instantly make the biggest sales week for a hip-hop album since his own Tha Carter III dropped in 2008 with 1.01 million copies.

Until the official numbers for Nielsen SoundScan come in on Wednesday we won't know exactly how many copies Lil Wayne sold. For the time being, Lil Wayne is more popular than Jay-Z and Kanye West combined and while that knowledge personally makes my skin itchy, I guess teenagers have a lot of buying power because that's what the kids are listening to right? 16-year-olds stroll around the mall buying Abercrombie t-shirts and fitted caps and listening to Weezy, don't they?

Weezy is still making those numbers even though his album leaked five days early. Adding more fuel to the Wayne vs. Kanye/Jay Z fire, their album didn't leak at all and Weezy is still selling more digital copies than them! But Jay-Z is married to Beyonce!? And Kanye West is the worlds most famous Douchebag?! Doesn't that mean anything to anyone anymore!?!?! Why doesn't that guarantee crazy album sales?!

When Weezy heard that the album leaked he just sneered, "It just means people want to hear it." Wayne told MTV News, "I mean, 'cause there're people's albums that come out that can be leaked and don't leak, so I'm glad mines leaked."

Ancelotti, 54, led PSG to the French title last season but asked to leave the club in May after Real made an approach for him.

He has signed a three-year deal in Spain to replace Jose Mourinho, who left to become Chelsea boss.

Blanc, 47, has agreed a two-year contract at the Parc des Princes.

PSG appeared to be trying to secure a replacement for Ancelotti before letting him go and said they were "delighted" at Blanc's appointment, despite French media claiming he was not the first choice.

He will take charge of the squad on 1 July for the start of pre-season training.

Blanc played for Montpellier, Auxerre, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Manchester United among others during his playing career, and the former central defender was also part of the French side which won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000.

As a manager, he led Bordeaux to the 2009 French league title before having a stint in charge of his country's national team between 2010 and 2012.

He will now assume control of a PSG outfit which has become one of European football's major players since being taken over by Qatar Sports Investments in August 2011.

Ancelotti was appointed as the French club's manager in December 2011 but the lure of Real Madrid has proved too hard to resist.

The former Italy international midfielder had spells at Parma, Roma and AC Milan as a player before starting his managerial career with Reggiana.

He went on to take charge of Parma, Juventus, Milan - where he won the Champions League in 2003 and 2007 - as well as Chelsea prior to joining PSG.

Ancelotti has won league titles in England, France and Italy, and Real Madrid will be hoping he can elevate them above Spanish champions Barcelona as well as delivering their first Champions League crown since 2002.

Italy striker Mario Balotelli has been ruled out of the rest of the Confederations Cup with a thigh injury.

Former Manchester City forward Balotelli, 22, scored in Italy's group games against Mexico and Japan.

He played the full 90 minutes of the 4-2 defeat to Brazil but will now miss Thursday's semi-final against Spain.

Team doctor Enrico Castellacci said: "The player cannot recover between now and the final on Sunday. We prefer not to take any risks."

He added: "In agreement with the coach Cesare Prandelli, it was decided to send him back to Milan after speaking to the medical staff at AC Milan, who will look after him."

Balotelli had played as the lone central striker in Italy's three group games, and Prandelli has Alberto Gilardino, Sebastian Giovinco and Balotelli's Milan team-mate Stephan El Shaarawy as his forward options for the match with Spain.

Italy lost last year's Euro 2012 final 4-0 to Spain, and Prandelli admitted that Balotelli's absence may lead to a change of formation.

"Without Mario, we need to work even more at a collective level," Prandelli said.

"We'll have players with different characteristics, but the aim is to make the team even more compact."

Playmaker Andrea Pirlo may be fit to face Spain after he missed the Brazil match with a calf injury.

Andre Schurrle: Chelsea complete £18m deal for German forward

Chelsea have signed Germany international forward Andre Schurrle from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of £18m.

Schurrle, who becomes manager Jose Mourinho's first signing since returning to the club, has signed a five-year deal.

"It is an honour for me to play for this club, with this team and for these great fans," Schurrle said. 

The 22-year-old scored 11 goals in 34 league games for Leverkusen in 2012-13.

Those performances helped the club finish in the third and final automatic Champions League qualifying place in the Bundesliga.

He joins up with compatriot Marko Marin, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Werder Bremen in July 2012 but made just 12 appearances in his debut season.

The Rock Works Out Like a Demi-God for 'Hercules' Role

Dwayne Douglas Johnson has always been a sizable fella, though his physical appearance from his days as a 17-time WWE champion is positively wimpish compared to the way he looks in his several big-screen roles this year.

We first noticed Johnson's superhuman physique as Roadblock, the heavy machine gunner who just wants to be a chef, in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" (March 29). And just a month later he could've passed for the Hulk in Michael Bay's "Pain & Gain" (April 26), in which Johnson plays a generally sweet-natured though hopelessly drug-addicted, born-again Christian bodybuilder caught up in an increasingly absurd kidnapping plan.

The 42-year-old appeared equally-yoked a month after that in "Fast & Furious 6" (May 24), in which he reprized his "Fast Five" role as Luke Hobbs, a Diplomatic Security Services agent who isn't beyond picking up a suspect and slamming him into the ceiling if it'll get some answers. Johnson's workout regimen for that film might have very well involved picking up grown men and throwing them across the room, as he barely seemed to be straining at all ... nor did it seem like he was receiving too much of a special effects assist.

Now, Dwayne Johnson looks to be taking his astonishing physique even further as he takes on another crazy diet and workout regimen for his upcoming role as ... well, the son of a god. Johnson will be playing the title role in "Hercules: The Thracian Wars," a fantastical action-adventure directed by Brett Ratner ("X-Men: The Last Stand") based on the Greek myth of the mighty muscle man born of the immortal Zeus and the mortal Alcmene.

A series of photos that Johnson himself providedvia Twitter show him hard at work to become Hercules. One pic shows him grimacing (we're sure it's just for show) as he pulls down weighted cables to work his upper arm muscles. The medium shot reveals that Johnson will be just as muscular than he was in "Pain & Gain" though perhaps not as, well, wide — his stomach and chest appear to be more toned than they were in Bay's film, giving him more of an athlete's physique than a hardcore bodybuilder's. It's just as well, too —Hercules will no doubt be involved in a lot more actual fight scenes than the hapless Paul Doyle.

The man's arms are still ridiculous, though. Another pic features a close-up of Johnson's deltoid, complete with fake scars as he's transformed into Hercules in the makeup room. It's about the size of Texas. This pic is also interesting as it gives a glimpse of the long-haired wig that Johnson will be wearing in the film — after all, you've got to get those dramatic shots of hair blowing in the wind, asBrad Pitt recently showed us in "World War Z."

Another pic takes us back to the gym and shows off Johnson's leg, which appears like it could kick a football to the moon (interestingly enough, the legs are Johnson's personal favorite body part, according to AllStarWorkouts.com). Really, how do the other gym members feel whenever The Rock is around? Do they wonder why they even bother?

It's not all about hitting the exercise equipment, though. You've got to eat a lot to get that big, and by "a lot" we mean at least seven meals a day. That's right — the rest of us barely eat three, andDwayne Johnson eats seven. He even took a pic of the inside of his refrigerator, which reveals a series of seven pre-packaged meals on each shelf.

Believe it or not, Johnson would probably be eating seven meals a day even if he weren't preparing to play Hercules. According to AllStarWorkouts.com, eating seven times is just another part of his everyday workout: "The Rock eats seven times a day. His crazy diet is about getting enough protein to aid lean muscle growth. The key to the Rock Diet is that he consumes a lot of protein, fibrous carbs, and starchy vegetables. Nutrition is everything. The reason The Rock eats this way, is because it helps him lose weight and gain muscle." Diet AND exercise, people.

Outrage trails hanging of 4 prisoners in Edo

Edo state on Monday hanged four prisoners, in what was believed to be Nigeria’s first known executions since 2006, drawing outrage from rights activists.
Nigeria has faced international scrutiny over its death penalty, with concerns over whether suspects receive a fair trial in a country where corruption is widespread.
While they would mark the first official, known executions since 2006, Nigerian security forces have been repeatedly accused of extra-judicial killings during that time period.
President Goodluck Jonathan recently called on state governors to sign death warrants, saying it was their responsibility under the law.

The Amnesty International condemned the decision by the Nigerian government to hang the four convicts in Benin city, the capital of Edo state. The body said the hanging was done even as moves by some NGOs to save five of the convicts sentenced to death failed as a federal high court rejected to hear the lawsuit filed to stop the hanging. Two executioners were said to have been called in today to handle the hanging.
Below is a statement by Amnesty International:
Amnesty International has received credible reports that authorities in the state of Edo in southern Nigerian have hanged four men in Benin City Prison on Monday – the first known executions in the country since 2006.
A fifth man remains at imminent risk of execution.
Lucy Freeman, deputy director for Africa at the organization, said:
“If confirmed, these executions mark a sudden, brutal return to the use of the death penalty in Nigeria, a truly dark day for human rights in the country.
“We again urge the Nigerian authorities to stop all executions immediately and return to the moratorium on executions in the country. We oppose the death penalty in all cases without exception, as it is the ultimate cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment.”
According to Amnesty International’s Death Sentences and Executions 2012 report, Nigeria sentenced 56 people to death last year, and approximately 1,000 people are reportedly on death row in the country.
Also, a statement by the Legal Defence and Assistance Project, LEDAP, condemns the action:
“LEDAP condemns today’s execution of 4 death row prisoners; Chima Ejiofor, Daniel Nsofor, Osarenmwinda Aiguokhan and Richard Igagu in Edo State despite their pending appeals at the court of appeal. The AG of Edo State and the prison authorities were duly served with the court processes comprising the notice of appeal and motion for stay of execution.”
“Under the Nigerian laws, an appeal and application for stay of execution should restrain further action until the appeal is determined. By executing the prisoners, Nigeria government has demonstrated gross disregard to the rule of law and respect for the judicial process.”
LEDAP and Human Rights, Social Development and Environmental Foundation – HURSDEF on the 19th of October, 2012 filed a suit at the Federal High Court Benin Division, on behalf of death row prisoners earmarked for execution by Edo State Government. In the suit, the death row prisoners in the suit contends that to execute them after over 16 years of trauma, suspense and imminent death would amount to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment. The prisoners further asked the court to order the Edo State Governor to commute their death sentences to terms of imprisonment. However, judgment was delivered today against the inmates by Hon Justice Liman of the Federal High Court Benin, holding among other grounds, that the prisoners did not place sufficient facts before the court to substantiate the relief sought in the suit.
LEDAP filed an appeal against the judgment of the Federal High Court delivered today and also a motion for stay of execution pending the outcome of the appeal and served the Notice of Appeal with the Motion for stay of execution on the Attorney General of Edo State and prison authorities in Edo State. Furthermore, all death row prisoners filed a case pending at the Court of Appeal Lagos challenging the decision of state governors to sign their execution warrants (Godwin Pius & Ors vs. Governor of Abia State & Ors).
Both appeals are pending at the Court of Appeal and the Edo State Governor and Comptroller General of Prisons are parties in both appeals. LEDAP is representing the prisoners in both appeal and also a party to the appeal in Edo State.
LEDAP condemns the execution of the four inmates despite the pendency of the appeal and motion for stay of execution filed by the inmates. Execution of the inmates while their appeal is pending is unlawful and amounts to a total disregard to the rule of law and judicial process in any democratic system.
