Raison D’être: When Does The Marriage/Relationship End?

Wedding days are the happiest days of the brides’ lives, probably not for the men who are spending for it. But the ladies keep their chins up, smiling all through and are usually very gentle and best behaved. But after years or sometimes just months into that fantasized world, when reality, tests and challenges surface, who wants out first?
There are various reasons to a lovely couple splitting after a lavished wedding amidst a bunch of relatives, some of them you don’t even like! Here are some of those motives behind a pre-mature packing out:
Personal Habits sound minute but these petite ways of life could cause hate, irritation and a divorce. Don’t ask if they were not noticed before the marriage. Behaviors like clumsiness, snoring, crazy hair styles etc can lead to separation. Try to capture your newly wedded spouse sleeping and snoring so loud a dead man could resurrect or his face while asleep looks like the corpse itself, then you would get the drift!
hungry man they say is an angry man. Now when you get married or love someone, you get to learn an automatic anger management course. Meaning a bad food –too much salt, pepper, cooking oil, too hot and little beef – should be meaningless especially after a long and tiring day at work right? Oh! After staying in traffic for ages, have you ever been asked, “Honey what do you want to eat?” at 11:00 pm? What do you say to that?
There is always a stepping stone to fashion once you are in love. Ladies look their best when single just to mingle. Guys are keen on their ironing, shoe neatness and breathe when chasing a chic. All is good but when they finally mingle, where do all that ‘keenness’ disappear to? Some neglect their body sizes; others don’t care carrying same hair style for 5 weeks. Men prefer watching matches than ironing their clothes when there is ‘Nepa’. There is no swag at all. This could lead to nagging, irritation then hate!
In addition to the above point, ever noticed that pre-marital sex is often juicy and adventurous? There is so much expectation and too much energy to explore. These same two people tie the knot later and all we find is two people on the same old boring sex styles for years. What happened to your walls, floors, tables and chairs or toilets? Are they too dirty for you to bang on/in? Why throw away what brought you two together in the first place? Need I explain why husbands cheat again?
Drugs and alcohol ruin homes, human beings and anything living! It’s crazy how people get neck deep into this madness that they forget what is valuable. According to Nollywood actress Ini Edo, “You get too dangerous to your community. You can kill the ones you love the most” and that’s the whole truth. This is the point where domestic violence surfaces, child assault arises, there is rape, child maltreatment gets in. Khloe Kardashian is at the verge of losing her husband thanks to drug addiction; Legendary Majek Fashek is gradually loosing himself too and Oh, Whitney Houston died! Do I still have to continue?
Last but not the list, the inclusion of third, fourth, fifth persons into your relationship gets nothing butdamage written all over it. Who ever told you, parents and ‘best friends’ are the best? Trust no one when it comes to protecting your interest. This leads to ‘I hear say, them talk say” stories; which are most times born out of jealousy, envy and hate! Beware!!!
Lastly, Secrets! By far this can not only ruin your relationship, it can lead to death. Long or short term secrets are same. Preferable, you tell before committing to anyone. Don’t say I’m going to tell them once I am very sure we are together for real. Is it after your wedding day you want to say, that my 4 year old nephew/niece is my biological child, or my father raped me as a child or I don’t work at CBN (Central Bank of Nigeria), I don’t even have a job! Worse of all, I can’t bear a child because of an abortion I had 5 years ago or I am HIV positive? Start talking while there is still a happy ear to listen!
This is where I stop for today, we shall continue soon…
